The Garden Halls incorporates Hughes Parry, Canterbury and Commonwealth Halls which
are predominantly undergraduate, currently housing approximately 958 students. Conveniently
located in historic Bloomsbury, this central London location is located a few minutes
from King’s Cross/St. Pancras which offers numerous tube, airport and rail links,
including the Eurostar. It is also close to Euston and Russell Square tube stations,
and a short walking distance from The British Library, The British Museum, Senate
House, many of the Colleges of the University of London as well as a variety of
markets, restaurants, pubs, shops and other attractions and amenities.
The catered halls provide breakfast and dinner, and on each floor there are shared
bathroom facilities as well as a pantry to prepare hot drinks and snacks. All of
the rooms are centrally heated and there are various communal facilities for all
residents to enjoy.
Hughes Parry Hall
Hughes Parry Hall provides accommodation on 14 floors for 305 male and female students
in 295 single rooms and 5 twin/shared rooms. On each floor there is a bathroom-shower-toilet-
block, a drying room and a shared pantry with light cooking facilities.
Situated between Hughes Parry and Commonwealth Halls Canterbury Hall provides 204
male and female rooms. This includes 26 rooms with private bathrooms, which are
mainly offered to postgraduate or final year undergraduate students.
There is accommodation on 9 floors for 437 male and female students, the majority
of which are undergraduates. There are 401 single rooms, 11 large single rooms,
3 ensuite rooms and 11 double/shared rooms that include a common study area. All
floors have a bathroom-shower-toilet block.
